Come join us in assembling Battalion Buddy Bears to support the children of our nation’s service members! In celebration of Month of the Military Child this April, Pride in Service is partnering with Operation Gratitude to deliver Battalion Buddies to the children of deployed troops. Together as ONE CSX, volunteers will gather in a hybrid environment at CSX Headquarters on March 4th.
Employees in Jacksonville are invited to join us in Acosta A & B to take part in person and hand-stuff 500 of the 3,500 Battalion Buddies being assembled as part of this initiative.
This event is limited to 100 participants, so please be sure to sign up soon as spots are filling up quickly!
In 1986, April was designated as Month of the Military Child to recognize the sacrifices and resilience of military children. Since 2019, CSX has sponsored the assembly and delivery of over 13,500 Battalion Buddies! Through this hybrid volunteer event, all registrants will be able to do their part in completing an important mission together. This event is part of CSX’s 2025 commitment to assemble and distribute 13,000 Battalion Buddies to the children of deployed servicemembers nationwide.

Once you’ve registered, Operation Gratitude will send your Battalion Buddy event materials to HQ where they will be ready for you on the day of the event. This event will include a live tutorial on how to stuff a Battalion Buddy and an opportunity to hear more about the important impact of this program.
What to expect
Once you’ve registered, Operation Gratitude will send you an email confirmation as well as an event box containing the following items:
(5) Battalion Buddy Kits; each Kit to include:
Camo Bear Jacket
Pre-Portioned Bear Stuffing
Operation Gratitude Neck Tag
(5) Custom CSX Neck Tags
Note: A few select boxes will include a “Special Item” (to be explained at event)
Prepaid return shipping label
Internal and external packing slip with Operation Gratitude identification barcode
