Christmas in July with CSX

Christmas in July Care Package Assembly Day in Jacksonville

June 13 - 15, 2024 (multiple shifts available)

The Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, HALL A

1000 Water Street Jacksonville, FL 32204

Join CSX Pride in Service, Operation Gratitude, and the Jacksonville community as we come together to thank our Military heroes in honor of the celebration of Christmas in July. Christmas in July is an annual festivity in many military communities taking place as a way for families to celebrate with service members who are deployed during the traditional holiday period. Together, as ONE CSX, we will assemble 7,500 Care Packages for currently deployed troops.

This event is part of the CSX Pride in Service community investment initiative to honor and serve our nation’s heroes and strengthen communities across our service territory.  At this event, employees and community volunteers will assemble Care Packages with tokens of our collective gratitude including handwritten letters of gratitude, snacks, hygiene products and handmade items that will be delivered to troops currently serving overseas.

To reach this ambitious goal, we will be hosting three volunteer days. We’ll need your help on Thursday, June 13th and Friday, June 14th to set up and prepare all of the items in advance of our big volunteer assembly day on Saturday, June 15th.

Interested individuals must register in advance to attend the event.  Feel free to register along with your family and friends!  Volunteers ages 13 and up are welcome.

SET-UP DAYS: June 13th and June 14th

Over the two set-up days, volunteers will unload pallets, organize the care package products and prepare the assembly lines. There are two shifts available each day.

  • First Shift: 9:30AM – 12:30PM
  • Second Shift: 1:30PM – 4:30PM

ASSEMBLY DAY: June 15th

Throughout the day, volunteers will assemble 7,500 Care Packages with holiday themed goodies to give our troops a little taste of home while stationed overseas. There will also be fun activities on-site that volunteers can take part in. Please note that this will be a day-long event with only one shift.
