Volunteer Opportunity for Team Building Across the CSX Network

Join the ONE CSX Battalion Buddy Brigade to assemble bears for the children of our nation’s service members! As a reinforcement of CSX’s ongoing commitment to support military families, railroaders across the country will come together to produce 13,000 Battalion Buddies over the course of the year. These Battalion Buddies will be directly delivered to the children of deployed service members as a token of comfort and acknowledgement of their sacrifices. As ONE CSX across our 26-state network, we will make an impact on the lives of 13,000 military children.  

How to Participate: 

 
1. Access the Event Request Form by clicking the “Register Now” button below. 
2. Fill in your contact information as the Event Host 
3. Complete the form by answering all of the questions related to the specifics of your event   
4. Submit! 
5. Upon submission you will be redirected to a confirmation page providing you with the custom CSX Battalion Buddy Event Resource Guide. 
6. Once your request to host an event at your location has been reviewed, you will receive an email from the Operation Gratitude team confirming your event, the number of Battalion Buddies you will receive for your program, and additional shipping updates.  
     Note: Upon receiving the confirmation email, you will then be able to move forward with planning the specifics of your event (i.e. reserve event space and seating, determine timing). An Operation Gratitude team member will be available to answer any questions you may have while planning or conducting your Battalion Buddy event!  
7. Follow the steps provided in the CSX Battalion Buddy Event Resource Guide as you plan, host your event and return your completed Battalion Buddies!

Once you’ve registered, Operation Gratitude will send your Battalion Buddy event materials to HQ where they will be ready for you on the day of the event. This event will include a live tutorial on how to stuff a Battalion Buddy and an opportunity to hear more about the important impact of this program. 

What to expect

Once you’ve registered, Operation Gratitude will send you an email confirmation as well as an event box containing the following items: 
  • (5) Battalion Buddy Kits; each Kit to include: 
    • Camo Bear Jacket 

    • Pre-Portioned Bear Stuffing 

    • Operation Gratitude Neck Tag 

  • (5) Custom CSX Neck Tags 
  • Note: A few select boxes will include a “Special Item” (to be explained at event) 
  • Prepaid return shipping label 
  • Internal and external packing slip with Operation Gratitude identification barcode 
The Tuesday, March 5th virtual event will include a live tutorial on how to stuff a Battalion Buddy and an opportunity to hear more about the important impact of this program. CSX employees on-site in Jacksonville are invited to participate in-person in Acosta A and B.
