Mail Call

We receive letters every day from Care Package recipients abroad and at home. Check this page often to read their messages to YOU, the American people, who made their Care Packages possible.

I truly appreciate the love and concern that you’ve shown myself and my unit. Thank you very much for the care package.”

All of you are truly amazing people and we wouldn’t be able to serve without the efforts you guys have put forward to make our lives easier on many psychological and emotional levels

Operation Gratitude,

We are writing you from the island of Diego Garcia. An island located right

in the middle of the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar and west of Australia.

Most everyone is stationed here for 1-year periods. We have various jobs from

space, satellite, air and port operations. Obviously there are many others

but that would take forever to type out and explain so we won’t bore you

with it.

We have received a very large package today and wanted to take a moment to

tell you how much we not only appreciate it but how much we needed it as

well. Your letters were very heart warming and we have enjoyed reading

through them. It took a while as there were so many but thank you so much.

All of you are truly amazing people and we wouldn’t be able to serve without

the efforts you guys have put forward to make our lives easier on many

psychological and emotional levels.

Please continue doing the great job that you’re doing. Supplies are very

difficult to get out to this island from time to time. Your work has helped

us more than you can imagine. Again, thank you so much.

Note:

1.) Your letters and pictures / drawings will remain on our walls.

2.) Our team is standing by to assist yours in any way

necessary.

Love from Diego Garcia’s Port Operations Team,

Very Respectfully,

LT C.W.B

U.S. Navy Support Facility

Thank you for all you do and provide for veterans on the honor flights

I was on the Great River Honor Flight leaving from Quincy, IL in June 2019. I was given an operation gratitude box of items. One of these items is a scarf that I am wearing this winter. Thank you for all you do and provide for veterans on the honor flights.  Sincerely,  R.L.  Quincy, IL

The little intangible items and notes from around the US, give us a strong link to home, and remind us that we are in the hearts and minds of those we serve

To the folks of Operation Gratitude,

We are a small task force composed of Marines, Soldiers, and Sailors currently serving in Iraq. We’ve been away from our families… and civilization for a while now, and we have a while to go. As many at your organization know, spending the holidays deployed can be both a rewarding and challenging experience. Rewarding, because we have the privilege and honor to serve overseas, while others who are willing cannot. Challenging because we are away from our friends and families, and those little things from home that make this time so special.

We have received a great many packages from Operation Gratitude, containing everything from sustenance to hand-knitted beanies and holiday stockings. Each package was personal; they contained letters from school children, families, and community organizations. The little intangible items and notes from around the US, give us a strong link to home, and remind us that we are in the hearts and minds of those we serve.

Many of our Marines, Soldiers, and Sailors have reached out to the individuals who contributed to the packages (via both email and snail mail), however, I wanted to send your organization as a whole a quick thank you.

God bless you and thank you again.

Sincerely and Semper Fi,

Colonel S.W.M, USMC

Commander, Task Force Anbar

It’s so nice having words of encouragement and goodies while out to sea

“Good afternoon! I am currently in the U.S. Navy and had the pleasure of receiving an Operation Gratitude package this Christmas! I want to say thank you to all of the volunteers and the CEO who founded this amazing organization. It’s so nice having words of encouragement and goodies while out to sea. All the little things have created a big impact on me! Happy New Year!” —V

The care and quality reflects a piece of home

Good morning,

We recently received a handful of hand knit scarves and hats in care packages from you. Those who received them loved them and those who didn’t were jealous. I want to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of all of us here. The care and quality reflects a piece of home. We are currently here in the gulf onboard a DDG, and at times it gets cold on the ship so we really appreciate it! Thanks for all your support!

Also, a special shout out to Regina for my hat! I wear it every night to bed!

Very respectfully

P.W.
