As I’m sure you know it means the world to the soldiers here to receive mail, and even more to receive care packages from folks they’ve never met

I recently received a care package from you, and I wanted to say thank you for thinking of our troops. As I’m sure you know it means the world to the soldiers here to receive mail, and even more to receive care packages from folks they’ve never met. Sir, it means a lot to all of us having you, and all those that help make this happen.   I’m a Warrant Officer for my unit and this isn’t my first tour, but for many of our troops it is their first tour. Care packages are a new thing for them, and it’s something they/we look forward to.   We’re a construction unit from MN supporting Special Forces in NW Africa. We support a geographic area larger than the footprint of the US, so we support a wide variety of projects throughout the area of Operations. Our main function is base building, maintenance, rebuilding, and retrograde, but on this tour we’ve been fortunate enough to be able to do a few unique things. For instance, with the abundance of care packages we receive we take a portion of them, and with the help of a local national we have been donating regularly to local orphanages. We have been able to build a relationship with them, and now we visit them to play soccer with the kids. Again, thank you for supporting our troops. We appreciate all you do for us.
