We include a handful of candy in every Care Package we send. A major source of these sweet treats is our popular Halloween Candy Give-Back Program hosted by generous dentists, businesses, groups, and families.

Thank you for your interest in the 2019 Halloween Candy Give-Back Program! We look forward to having you participate in 2020.

important guidelines for HALLOWEEN CANDY DONATIONS

Please be sure to read and follow these helpful guidelines to ensure you have a successful Halloween Candy GIVE-Back Campaign!
Click on the sign up button below our guidelines to get started.

  • DO understand that Operation Gratitude cannot pay for shipping candy to our facility, as we need every penny of our funds to pay the cost of sending the Care Packages to the Troops and all who serve: $15/package.
  • DO fill out and submit an online Donation Form with the total pounds of candy and any additional donated items. You will receive an email confirmation with a printable barcode, for tracking purposes only, to include in your package, along with shipping instructions. Please wait until your drive is complete to fill out the donation form.
  • DO line your boxes with big plastic bags to safely ship loose candy, or place the candy into zip-close bags.
  • DO separate candy from other scented items (i.e. soap, deodorant).
  • DO separate hand-written thank-you letters from candy to ensure they are not ruined in the shipment (place in an envelope or separate plastic bag).
  • DO ship your candy no later than November 8 to:
    Operation Gratitude
    Attn: Halloween Candy Program
    9409 Owensmouth Avenue
    Chatsworth, CA 91311-4278

  • DON’T spend more on shipping than the value of the candy you are donating. Instead, consider a financial donation to help us ship the Care Packages.
  • DON’T purchase candy on sale after Halloween to ship to us. If you do not have leftover Halloween candy, but would still like to contribute, please take a look at our other ways to get involved.
  • DON’T ship boxes larger than 24″x 24″x 20″ or weighing more than 30 lb. (weight can harm candy in transit). Please do not pay for priority shipping.
  • DON’T send full-size candy or bags of loose candy. All candy donations must be individual “treat size” packaging and factory sealed.
  • DON’T send Pixy Stix (or other powdery candy). They make a mess inside the Care Packages.
  • DON’T sort your candy. We want to make sure our Troops, Veterans and First Responders get a variety of treats in each Care Package.
  • DON’T send your financial donations with candy. Please mail donations to us at:
    Operation Gratitude
    P.O. Box 260257
    Encino, CA 91426-0257

Thank you for following these important guidelines!

    HALLOWEEN CANDY deliveries

In 2018, Operation Gratitude launched a new way for donors and volunteers to get involved in their local communities. Last year, volunteers hand-delivered thousands of pounds of candy to First Responder Departments in 20 cities around the country. This year we plan to increase these efforts to hand-deliver 50% of the Halloween candy that is donated. In order to do that, we need your help! If you are interested in forging strong bonds in your community and would like to deliver Halloween Candy and say “Thank You” to local heroes, please email us at Candy@OperationGratitude.com with the subject line “I want to Volunteer”.
