Operation Gratitude receives 1 million+ letters each year from Americans who want to express their gratitude for our heroes’ service. As letters flood into our facility (“The FOB”) from across the country, our trained volunteer Letter Screeners individually read and approve each note. Your team members can become trained Letter Screeners in one short presentation and this volunteer opportunity makes for a great ongoing service opportunity.

Can our company screen letters at our office?

Yes! First, everyone in the group must be trained by our Operation Gratitude Letter Screening Specialist. For large groups of 20 or more, we may be able to go to your site to conduct a training, or we can host your group’s training at our facility, The FOB, in Chatsworth, CA.

How do we become Letter Screeners?

Your business must be located close enough to The FOB in Chatsworth, CA to take our Letter Screener class, and to pick up and drop off the letters. Each Letter Screener will attend an approximately 25-minute instruction that will teach you how to screen and categorize the letters. Please contact us to set-up an appointment by emailing partnership@operationgratitude.com.

When and where are Letter Screener classes available?

We will make every effort to accommodate your schedule. We organize group classes at The FOB a few times a year. We can also provide group or one-on-one training at The FOB during our normal operating hours (Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), or we can set up an appointment to meet off-site at your and our convenience.

How many letters are we required to read?

There is no set requirement. You can read the letters at your own pace and as often as you have the time. Our only requirement is that you devote concentrated time to screen the letters, without distractions or other obligations at that time.

How old do group members need to be?

Letter Screeners should be at least 21 years old.
