OPERATION GRATITUDE BLOG: SAYING “THANK YOU” TO ALL WHO SERVE

20 Years at War and Our Renewed Commitment

Thirty years ago this past Sunday, the Gulf War started. I had just reported to Camp LeJeune, North Carolina as a young Second Lieutenant. Four months later, my Artillery Battalion would deploy at the tail end of Desert Shield — in plenty of time to prepare our unit and our Marines for Operation Desert Storm. I can’t believe it was three decades ago.

We Are Family

In the midst of these unprecedented times, our family at Operation Gratitude found a way to adapt, evolve, and overcome adversity. Together, as a family, we continued to take action, impacting more than 325,000 Deployed Troops, Military Families, Veterans, and COVID-19 Frontline Responders in 35 states and Washington DC.

The Kind of Hope Our Country Needs

Operation Gratitude has delivered upwards of 5 million individual items to include snack, hygiene, and comfort products, tens of thousands of Handmade With Love items and personal letters of gratitude – positively impacting more than 300,000 Frontline Responders, but our reach extends far beyond that to their families, patients, and communities.

Honoring Courage and Commitment

On the heels of Flag Day, Operation Gratitude is announcing our goal of assembling and delivering 5,000 individually addressed Care Packages to Deployed Troops.

Over the next five weeks, our team and volunteers will work tirelessly to honor the courage and commitment of those who have served and those who continue to serve and protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans — and everything our flag represents.
