Y’all make our days go by better and more personal

Dear Sir/ Ma’am,

I just want to send a quick note and pass on a patriotic thank you to all who
were involved in sending out the care packages and personal notes to troops
serving overseas.

Y’all make our days go by better and more personal, knowing there are fellow
country men and women (of all ages) back home sending their personal care and
love to us.

Thank you

TSgt R.O.

There isn’t a feeling quite like getting a care package while on deployment, especially with the letters from kids

Hello,

I just received an Operation Gratitude box while deployed on board USS ****. . I would like to take some time to personally thank you for the selfless time the volunteers took to put this package together. There isn’t a feeling quite like getting a care package while on deployment, especially with the letters from kids. We enjoy hanging them up.

A little about myself. I am in the U.S. Navy and currently deployed on the USS **** . My parent command is a little community called  ****  and I am in Detachment ****. I am the operations chief and Navigator for ****  56 (LCAC 56). That’s a whole bunch of fancy words for a hover craft. As the operations chief, I gather all the details for a mission and come up with the assault plan. As a Navigator I take those details and I tell the driver where to turn and when to turn to get us to the designated beach on time. I have been in the Navy for 12 years and currently I am a Chief Petty Officer (E-7). I have been stationed on two other ships, I was part of another specialized detachment called Helo, Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (HVBSS), where I boarded pirated ships and skiffs to arrest the “suspected pirates”. Following that command I became a recruiter in the great state of *** , where I also call home. I have been in the LCAC community now just over four years.

Well I hope to hear back from you, but no hard feelings if I don’t.  Thank you again.

Very Respectfully,

OSC(SW) J.S.

It is always appreciated to know that there are individuals back home who are always thinking of the soldiers who are away from home

To whom it may concern,

I am a soldier who is currently deployed in Iraq, writing you to thank you for your care

package of candy. I was able to distribute this box of candy to our soldiers across our TAA. Everyone
thoroughly enjoyed the  candy and especially the thought. It is always appreciated to know that there are individuals back home who are always thinking of the soldiers who are away from home. I know everyone there took time out of their own day to put together such a great care package so I wanted to thank everyone who put together this care package as  everyone really appreciates it.
Thank You

My platoon and I greatly appreciate it and enjoy every single thing that we receive

Thank you all very much for the care packages.  My platoon and I  greatly appreciate it and enjoy every single thing that  we receive. I will attach a picture and send it once I get enough service to send it. I can’t attach any devices to the computer to transfer a picture at this time. Thank you though for the packages and I will get a picture to you all though.

It’s a pretty powerful thing to witness first-hand, the spirit of the American Soldier.

Dear Mr. M & Miss A.

Thank you for the beautiful holiday letters from your 8th grade Spanish class at *****  Middle School, in support of Operation Gratitude! I’ve shared your care package with my Soldiers and it means the world to us that we have your support. Please let your students know that we are truly grateful.

I constantly witness the emotional hardships that our Soldiers have to endure, being thousands of miles away from home and fighting multiple insurgencies.  The spirit of our Soldiers remains unbroken as they give everything that they have to the mission. Three brave Soldiers during this tour have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. That was a very human experience for everyone in this unit. It brought us to our knees, but eventually made us stronger. My Soldiers march on, because it’s their duty and they took an oath to defend our country. They all have family and friends back home who rely on them to continue fighting. It’s a pretty powerful thing to witness first-hand, the spirit of the American Soldier.

Thank you again, for your loving prayers and the very thoughtful letters. Please relay my heartfelt thanks, on behalf of the 1st Cavalry Division Resolute Support Sustainment Brigade, to the students of Autrey Mill, who selflessly gave their time, in support of our Troops. We fight for you and it means so much to know that you have our backs!

Please, never compromise on your dreams. Work hard today and it will pay off for you tomorrow, when you become doctors, teachers, lawyers, engineers and Soldiers. You are the future, so make us all proud. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to tell your family and friends that you love them, because life is short.  Also, never forget those who sacrificed in order to make your dreams possible. Go forth and achieve greatness!

Very Humbly Yours,

The 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade Family
