I am blessed to be one of the few in millions that got the opportunity to serve my country, don this uniform and do my part for the freedom that we have
I wanted to reach out because I received a care package from your organization and I wanted to say ” THANK You”. I want all of you to know that we are all HEROES in one way or another. I am blessed to be one of the few in millions that got the opportunity to serve my country,
. I know that not everyone decides to be a member of the Armed Forces, but we all contribute in one way or another. I thank you for all the support and love that you guys show. The smallest things in life are the things that count while we are out here. Keep up the good work, your work does not go un-noticed.
Many happy faces can be seen after finding surprises in each box
To whom it may concern,
The history of our great nation is marked by the accomplishments of strong leaders and innovative individuals who took great risks; but those people were always part of teams. Marine Medium T Squadron *** Unit is continuing this legacy as a team dedicated to protecting our way of life. However, none of this would be possible without the dedicated support of organizations such OPERATION GRATITUDE . A Chinese proverb states “behind an able man there are always other able men.” The truth is, teamwork is at the heart of great achievement. One is too small a number to achieve greatness. You cannot do anything of real value alone. Without your support, the VMM 365 (REIN) team would not be able to accomplish its mission. On behalf of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel A.K., thank you for your selfless devotion to providing our Marines and Sailors care packages during our deployment. Many happy faces can be seen after finding surprises in each box. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we concentrate our efforts on protecting the walls of freedom.
Sergeant Major C.G.
You made my birthday!
Dear Operation Gratitude Volunteer,
I received your Operation Gratitude box while deployed on the USS
*** in the Gulf of Oman on July 20th 2017. Out of sheer
coincidence, it happened to be my 42nd Birthday. I found it in the
Ready Room (where pilots go to plan missions and conduct flight
briefs) on my chair before a flight and immediately opened it up.
Imagine my surprise when, of all the boxes that arrived, this one
included a note from a volunteer at my alma mater, UCLA!
It has been 19 years since I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant
on the Bruin campus. Now I’m the Commanding Officer of *****. I’m responsible for 600+ Marine and Sailors and
35 aircraft including (12) MV-22B Ospreys, (7) AV-8B Harriers, (4)
CH-53E Sea Stallions, (4) AH-1W Cobras, (3) UH-1Y Hueys and (5) RQ-21A Blackjack drones. It is a tremendous honor to lead these fine men and women. I’m inspired by their tireless worth ethic and dedication.
Likewise, I’m impressed by volunteers such as Katie, a Sophomore
Musical Theater Major, who took the time to write me a note thanking
me for my service. As a Class of 1998 graduate (BA, Political
Science), I couldn’t tell you how proud I was to hear from a fellow
Bruin and patriot. Please pass along my sincere appreciation and warm
regards to the entire volunteer team. You made my birthday!
Lieutenant Colonel, US Marine Corps
