In the box there was a purple scarf knitted by Cindy D.

Hello,

I want to personally thank everyone for the boxes of goods.  I am on the USS *****  and our supplies are a little strained right now.  I’m sure I don’t have to explain what’s going on because it’s all over the news where we are.   In the box there was a purple scarf  knitted by Cindy D. from *****.    I would appreciate it if someone would contact her to tell her I said, “Thank you very much”.   My wife knits, and it brings back memories of home.   I am very eagerly looking forward to going home because I  had my first child, a boy, born on March 17th.  I haven’t met him yet, and will  be missing the first 3 months of his life.   Please pray for our safety , and even more so that we don’t get extended again.  I’d rather not miss more than 3 months of my baby’s life.  God bless you all.

Very Respectfully,
AO2 (AW/SW) K.C.

It is truly an honor to defend and support the fine people of our country, especially people like you

My unit and I have received your care package, and we wanted to thank you for your efforts.  We truly appreciate the support!  We are very busy, but we strive to do our best every day.  Our recent missions have been recognized on a global level (if you’ve been watching the news you’ve probably heard about some of our sorties), and little things like getting letters and care packages help keep us focused.  It is truly an honor to defend and support the fine people of our country, especially people like you.    I am a weapons team chief.   We are real people, doing a real job, supporting a real mission.  We all appreciate everything you have done to support us. Thank you so much!

Ssg J.H.

You raise the morale of my soldiers

On behalf of B Company Auto section I would like to say thanks for all the time and effort you guys put into these care packages. You raise the morale of my soldiers. Best regards, Ssg G.

Thanks for thinking of us

Dear Operation Gratitude,

I am temporarily assigned to the USS ****  (steaming in the Persian Gulf) as a catapult officer getting my qualifications.  One of your boxes was on a desk in the admin department when I was making copies.  I wanted to specifically thank you for the Sunday comics you put in.  I’ve always enjoyed reading the funnies and appreciate the short break in the day they provide –  even more when I’m on a ship.  I know the sailors greatly appreciate all the other notes, food, and useful items that were also in the box.  Thanks for thinking of us.  From the newspapers it looks like the box came from Los Angeles so I hope all is well back in sunny California.

 Sincerely,

D.F. .

It feels good knowing we have a lot of support back on the home front

Good afternoon OPERATION GRATIUDE,

I am T.F., , a sailor USS *****  currently deployed. I
received a care package from your organization and I would like to thank you guys. You guys aren’t obligated to send anything to  sailors and soldiers ove seas but you guys make it happen.  It feels good knowing we have a lot of support back on the home front. I would also like to know if  there is any way I can write back to the kids/students/vets personally to  thank them?

Very Respectfully
OS2(SW)F

It’s a morale thing and we love it

Everyone in my platoon received a box so we all had something to enjoy today. I will send more pictures out next week when I get back to my computer. Right now we are all outside the FOB doing a mission and sold be home by Monday.  Again, thank you so much.

The packages do a lot more than just make living out here better.
It’s a morale thing and we love it. I will share the link with the entire company when I link up with them in the future. Stay safe and thank you and everyone working with you!  E.R.

It was quite a surprise and very much appreciated

Hello,
Just wanted to say thank you.
I am part of a group of volunteer first responders here in our little county in Montana (Meagher County). We respond to fires both wildland and structure as well as search and rescue.
At our recent training meeting we were all given a gift from Operation Gratitude. It was quite a surprise and very much appreciated.
Thank you so much,
J.K.

It really helps our morale out here knowing and being reassured that people back home appreciate what we are doing

Hello friends,

My platoon received a ton of packages from you guys today. The mail takes a long time to get to us out here in Iraq. I just want to thank you and everyone involved with these packages. It really helps our morale out here knowing and being reassured that people back home appreciate what we are doing. So much is going on in the world today and we just want to do our part in making this place better than it was when we got here.  Again we appreciate the packages a lot! Feel free to write back and I will send pictures when I get some free time.   E.R.
