Heroes Worth Writing For Contest

They say “Letter writing is a lost art.” Let’s prove them wrong!
January 23, 2011 is National Handwriting Day. Pentel and Operation Gratitude invite you to express your gratitude to our military personnel in a letter—handwritten the old-fashioned and heart-felt way—and enter a contest to win fun prizes at the same time!
Troops tell us the most cherished items in the Operation Gratitude care packages are the personal letters of appreciation from Americans. We will deliver all of the letters entered in the Pentel contest to our military deployed in harm’s way. Entrants in the Heroes Worth Writing For promotion will have the opportunity to win the Grand Prize of a $200 Visa Gift Card and $100 in Pentel products. Four runner-ups will each receive a $50 Visa Gift Card and $25 in Pentel products.
Just pull out your pen and an 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper, and handwrite a letter on one side to a United States Military member expressing your thanks for their courage and sacrifice. The letter must be original, handwritten (typed letters are not accepted) and composed solely by you.
Please write your name, address, and e-mail address ON A SEPARATE PIECE OF PAPER and include it along with your letter. One letter per person only will be accepted. The deadline to enter is January 31, 2011. Letters postmarked after this date will NOT be accepted. Entries will be judged on the basis of sincerity and originality of content.
Each of the five winners will be featured for one day on the Pentel and Operation Gratitude Social Media sites and through email and on the Pentel website.
